New Roomies at Dogtown

With some amazing adoptions happening the last few weeks, we have been left with many “single living dogs” who are social and really need to have a friend to play with during the day :) At Dogtown we continuously do assessments on our dogs and have social walks so that they can meet new dogs and keep up with social skills :) This month has been really amazing and we have buddied up so many new friends :)

Our buddy up ritual usually starts with suggestions of suitable matches by our team leaders. Then the team leaders and caregivers start off with casual walks and gradual introductions, followed by some social time in the play areas :) Only once that has been done and it looks like the new roomies could be friends, do they start sharing some garden time up at the octagons :)

Here are our latest ROOMIES

Our little Bijou found a friend in Aslan :) Both of these dogs have sad stories but that has not stopped them from being amazing souls who just want to love and be loved in return.

Wind and Diasy O’Dare really hit it off. They have been playing non stop :) So awesome when we find such an amazing match, it’s like the have always been together :) Screen Shot 2018-06-11 at 8.11.57 AM

Moxxi & Lucy are a match made in heaven. They play all the time and enjoy their adventures to the play area where Lucy swims to her heart’s content and miss Moxxi eagerly awaits on the side of  the pond for her to get out and carry on playing :)

Jester & Saskia have also moved in together. Both of them were tried with various other dogs first but this combination was just a perfect fit :)

Newby Nikki and Opal have also been paired up :) Lovely to see them living together and keeping each other company.

Once our dogs have been matched with a potential new roomie, they have supervised play-dates followed by a 10 day pull out, which basically means they get to spend 10 full days together in their garden during the day but still get separated at night. Only once they have had 10 full incident-free days, are they officially shacked-up and can stay together permanently :) We want to always make sure that the new roomies are 100% comfortable sharing their space before they spend the night together :)
