Well September brought some really sad cases to Dogtown but looking back on these furkids whose lives would have ended up who-knows-where if they didnt come to us….. I am grateful that we were in a position to help change their lives. Meet our FIVE newbies for September!

Meet NOVA! This sweet puppy was found just laying in the street by one of our volunteers early one Sunday morning. This sweet girl was completely emaciated and unable to stand or even get up. She was rushed to the vet where she was diagnosed with Parvo. Sweet Nova spent more than a week at the vet fighting for her life. We are thrilled to say that Nova is getting stronger each day and she is now safe at Dogtown where we can help her to start her new chapter! She will be up for adoption soon!

Meet Anthia! Can you believe that this young girl was also found in the streets as a stray. She was taken to our vet but sadly they were unable to track down her family as she had no form of identification. She was also heavily pregnant :( Sadly her young body started aborting the pups while she was at the vet and she immediately went into emergency surgery. Thankfully mama Anthia is doing really well but sadly none of her puppies survived :( This young girl is super  friendly and will also be up for adoption soon! She was named after our awesome vet, Dr Anthia Cronje, at Petite Paws Veterinary Clinic who goes out of her way to help us and our dogs!

Meet Dawson, Dusty & Tiara! Believe it or not, but these 3 furkids were also just literally laying in one of the dirt roads between the farms in our area. They were all so weak and neglected, Tiara more so than the others. Tiara’s case has been very hard to process as not only has she clearly had a life of neglect, she also has TVT and is now receiving chemo treatment on a weekly basis. To read more about them, read these 2 stories which both circle around Tiara and her recovery:
