I am sitting with a bit of a situation with a x-breed doggie that I adopted about 10 months ago. Initially we both (Hanneke and I) thought that he was going to be a smallish dog…..he appeared to be more of a Jack Russell X. Oh my word, this young man turned out to be a much, much bigger dog and my yard and house are no longer suitable for this precious boy. I feel this is very unfair towards him, as he needs much more room than I have to offer. He is a loving, playful dog and in excellent condition. He is however starting to get frustrated and I have now also had several complaints from the Body Corporate about his barking during the day. He has full access to be inside or outside, and this is when trouble starts. He is an extremely energetic dog. Very very playful and outstandingly patient. I have two yorkies who give him a rough time sometimes, but he remains very patient and the three of them play well together. I have no idea how he will react to cats, as we are not permitted to have cats in the complex.
He is approximately 10 months old and many have told me he must be some sort of a whippet cross breed. He is sterilised and his vaccinations are up to date. I also deworm him every four months. He is fond of children and has no behavioural problems, except that he has loads of energy and needs room to be able to run and play (which he doesn’t have at the moment).
He is used to sleeping inside even though he is not a small little dog.
