Hi there. I am sure you know many of these quotes and sayings – “Chance in a million”; “Take a chance”; “Chance of a lifetime”; “You’ll never know if you don’t take a chance”; well my name is Chance and I can relate to these sayings and be thankful that a very unique 5 star hotel called DogtownSA took a “Chance” on me. My name is Chance and I was found on a dumpster after being involved in a very bad fight and left by some really nasty humans. But have no fear there are some wonderful peeps still out there and one such person saw my plight and rescued me. I was taken to a vet for help where I had many stitches and lots of medication to put me back together again. My lucky stars were really there for me as this peep contacted the DogtownSA family and they make a special plan to take of me. Even though I was still very scared and uncertain of what my outcome could be I put on my brave face (stitches and all) and kept telling myself that I would be okay and I would be safe.
Well guys, I was right. Quickly I found out that my fears were totally unfounded as my new family took me in and treated me better that I had ever imagined was possible. I have awesome carers who look after me and spoil me daily with yummy food and chews as well as peanut butter hooves and furry ice lollies to lick during the day. I also get lots of visits from my carers and volunteers who sit with me, chat to me and I get so excited and roll over and entice them into giving me tummy rubs which I loooovvve so much. I cannot tell you just how happy it makes me feel cos I know they are very busy, but I try and get them to stay as long as possible giving them many thank you kisses in return. One of my bestest treats is going out on regular walks with my carer and I wear a comfortable harness and lead. Whilst we are out I have been shown how to do various obedience exercises so on the way we stop and do these I get lots of special yummy treats and cuddles. I love smelling all the many scents along the way and at times get so involved that I need to get to the next one rather too quickly so pull on the lead. I am learning that this is not the most appropriate behavior but with the special training I am receiving from my gentle carer I am slowing down my pace and learning to walk more calmly at my carer’s side.
I also get many days when we go to the large play area where I can run around without my lead, play and let off steam until I am really exhausted. So all you awesome peeps out there if you are a family who would like to adopt me and “take a Chance on me” cos as they say in life “One chance is all you need” I will make you so very proud and be your forever special furkid and lavish all my love and affection on you every single minute of every single day.
