Hi guys I wonder if you know the song – “On the road again –
Just can’t wait to get on the road again”
The reason I am asking is because that was my theme tune. I have had a rather unsettling and precarious start in my furry life which saw me on the road for some eight months where I really had to live off my wits and take shelter in some of the most uncomfortable places and at times have a very empty tummy, which made me miserable. Then the “road I was on” took a turn that would change my situation forever. Amazing people from a special place called DogtownSA were trying to coax me to come to them and after seeing them on numerous occasions sitting near to my hideways, leaving tasty food yet not attempting to upset me in any way, I finally relented and allowed them to take me into their care and back into a safe secure lifestyle.
Not in my wildest dreams did I realize what a wonderful decision this would turn out to be. I suddenly had a place to sleep and was given such tasty food and allowed to settle in at my own pace. Then after an initial period at this 5 star hotel I was introduced to a lovely young furkid called Penny and now we spend most of our days playing and romping around together. She has helped me in many ways showing me all the little things I need to know and how to learn to trust and accept all the super carers and volunteers that come to see us so often. I didn’t realize just how caring peeps could be. One of the bestest times we have is when we get to go on many walks together with our carers and volunteers. We wear comfortable leads and harnesses and are able to stop and smell all the interesting scents and shrubs en route. On the trail at certain places we stop and do sits and downs and then guess what — get yummy treats for being so clever and responding so quickly. I bet you are jealous!!!!! Then when we get back to our little house and are feeling a wee bit tired, we take a nap and I lie down next to Penny and have forty winks in the sun whilst she lies on top of her special wooden house and also has a snooze. Life is just soooooooo cool and I know I will never go back to “the road” again. Nevertheless I do still have a dream that I would love to come true and that is to find my forever family where I can cuddle up with my own human and be a devoted best friend and companion. To make this dream perfect it would be just magic for there to be another furkid and if they don’t have one I would love to bring my furgal and together we could have many years of fun and happiness.
I am good with:
