Gemma and Jack are 9yrs old
Gemma (on the left) is a soft sweet little girl, however she has many border collie quirks, obsessive over shadows, terrible fear of thunder or firecrackers and needs to be in a very secure property as she tends to jump over the front wall, squeezes through burglar bars to get in and needs human company. She would suit a new family that makes her feel included, but allows her her space to have a long nap in the sun in-between her bursts of high energy as she is nearly getting on in years. Gemma is a small tri-colour border collie with beautifully soft coat.
Jack is a very loyal boy, he is obedient and eager to please. He’s a bigger border collie (Gemma’s brother), but coming on in age, his hip bothers him in the cold and after a long walk he needs a good rub. Jack loves to fetch balls, but also enjoys being close and will quietly sit with us for a little family time. Jack has very sensitive skin and now and prior to knowing what was wrong, his front teeth wore down from scratching. He is allergic to fleas, so this is something that we need to manage.
Both get on exceptionally well with cats, but neither like the company of small dogs, especially not Jack Russels. They are used to children, but don’t like being crawled over, so I would suggest a home with non crawlers.
They both love the water and in summer time, Gemma is known to jump into the swimming pool to cool down. They are house trained, walk well on leads, but occasionally run out the front gate, so they need a property that will keep them safe from the street.
We love our dogs, but at their age, the trip would be very traumatic and we don’t know what sort of accommodation we would be able to find that would give them the space that they need and the security that Gemma needs to keep her safely inside.
