Hi there my name is George – “Little” George according to my carers. I am such a lucky furkid to have come to this suuuper duuuper hotel called DogtownSA. I have been living with a family but they are moving and will not be taking me with them. I didn’t know what was going to happen to me but little did I realize that I had a lucky “star” that decided to shine on me. These great peeps from DogtownSA heard about my plight and came and took me firstly to their very special vet, for a full checkup and vaccinations, which I didn’t know all dogs need to have and then, they found me a very special apartment to live in at their hotel.
I am still settling in and getting used to a lot of different things and must admit am rather nervous of some of the peeps when they come by to say “hi” to me cos previously I didn’t meet many great peeps but I do like it when they come and give me great yummy treats. They have such kind voices and lots of smiles when I take the food from them. I am still unsure of being touched, especially around my neck cos it makes me feel very uneasy cos I don’t know what is going to happen to me but I am a resilient little guy and with the help of my carers am learning to conquer my fears. My caregivers are constantly encouraging me to be brave and gradually I know I will overcome these uncertainties. Every day they spend lots of time with me and let me just try and relax and get used to my new routine in my time. You know what – it does get easier every day.
So you wonderful peeps out there, I am looking for a very special family that will give me time to grow and gain more confidence. My dream is to live with this family and be able to run around their garden, maybe play with their other dogs and know that I will never have to be afraid of anything again.
