Lexi is a smallish tri-coloured cross breed dog. She has a short smooth coat. Lexi is young dog and she has been sterilised, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and micro-chipped. She is currently in foster care in Cape Town and is ready to go to join her new family.

Lexi and her big brother Frankie were rescued from an abusive situation on a farm near Villiersdorp. They were unwanted by their owner who is extremely sick. The dogs were not being fed. They were both chained up and had stones thrown at them (with catapult)) every day. We fetched them as soon as we heard about them. Due to the owner’s situation there is no point trying to lay charges and we have no witnesses anyway. At this stage we are just thankful that we got them away from him.

Sadly, Frankie sustained permanent injuries but we are grateful to Denise his loving foster mom who is continuing to care for him. Lexi hid behind Frankie (who is bigger and braver) and thus was not as severely injured by the stones. She is in very good shape and has learned to trust people and is playful and full of life.

Lexi gets along very well with other dogs and is child-friendly.
