Hello, my name is RIDGE!
More about me
Male (Medium). Cross Breed. adult (DOB: 2011).
Shelter: DogtownSA - Hennops River (Gauteng)
Ridge is a super happy fur-kid. He is always happy to see his hoomans and he wiggles his body non-stop, which is how his nickname slinky-dog originated. He is not a pup anymore but when he arrived at Dogtown, he experienced how to do doggy things for the first time in his life. He spent a lot of time observing the other fur-kids so that he can figure out what is expected of a pet, imagine his relief when he learned that it was not a life tied up or dodging cars on the roads.
Dogtown’s attention was brought to a nameless, mix breed stray, saved by a good Samaritan and taken to the hospital with a broken pelvis and big open wounds all over his body. The vets were very concerned about him, not thinking he would recover properly, not having any bladder control. But, with lots of crate rest, good medication, good vets, doggy friends in his foster home to encourage him he slowly but surely started to get back on his feet again, and he figured he’d better start to pee on his own otherwise his Dogtown nurse is going to come wake him up from every nap so that his bladder can be emptied. He is a fighting spirit, and not even getting hit by a car and being left for dead made him give up on living.
Ridge will never say no to a game with some fur-kids, especially if he gets to run like the wind. I mean if your legs have been given a 2nd chance you are going to use them right? He absolutely loves to learn new skills, because he knows he gets all sorts of rewards when he gets things right. This boy is not to be over looked if you are looking for a best friend, because that is all he ever wanted to be.
I am good with:
dogs, children, domestics
