Hello, my name is Shayla!
More about me
Female (Large). Swiss. Young-adult - DOB: 2012/2013.
I am good with:
Dogs, Cats, Children
Shelter: Barking Mad Network (Gauteng)
SHAYLA was abandoned at a boarding kennel in December 2015. She suffered serious separation anxiety whilst in kennels and was eventually very fortunate to find a wonderful foster home in Centurion in March 2016.
In the last 2 months SHAYLA has started to come out of her shell and she is learning to accept love from humans again.
Her foster family had committed to taking in two German Shepherds from an emigrating family earlier this year. They were assured that this beautiful pair of dogs were socialised. Unfortunately they are not and it is placing tremendous pressure on the household to keep them separate from SHAYLA. It’s been a couple of weeks and even though it may still improve it will take a very long time.
SHAYLA needs to find a home she can call her own and settle in forever.
She is good with other dogs, cats, birds – pretty much all other creatures
She loves to play with her balls and other KONG toys. She is starting to walk nicely on a leash She also loves to swim so a swimming pool is a must! It takes her a little while to trust new people.
We are appealing to a special human/family out there who can take SHAYLA in and continue working on her gaining back her self-confidence. She has so much love to give!
