Hello, my name is SPENCER!

More about me
Male (Large). German Shepherd Blend. adult (DOB: 2013).
Shelter: DogtownSA - Hennops River (Gauteng)
I just finished my neighborhood watch shift and figured I have a couple of minutes before I have to start working on my reports. So here is a bit about me. It’s a bit of a stressful job I have, keeping an eye on the town and alerting everyone to any suspicious movement. My partner is always saying, geez Spencer take a breath, just relax a bit. She doesn’t take the job, as seriously as I do, but that’s OK, she is just a rookie.
I used to have a family, a hooman mom, dad and siblings, the four footed and the two-footed kind (how do they stay up straight with only two legs?). They decided this country wasn’t for them; they all left and did not want to take me with. I had to move back in with my biological mom (how embarrassing). You might know her, Sheena? So anyway I got back on my paws, got myself my own pad and took up the role of the Sheriff in Montego Town. Nothing slips passed me, I sleep with one eye open and both ears on the ground. (I need to find another way to sleep).
As you can imagine, the trauma I have experienced by losing everyone and everything I love left me unsettled and anxious and sometimes I can’t help to panic. My partner set me up with some medication and therapy that helps with that. But it really takes me a while to trust someone; and these days people want instant gratification. Everyone wants the doggy in the window. It takes a special someone to put in the time it will take me to trust them. My partner assured me that I am worth it and she is sure there is someone out there who is as understanding as the Dogtown people are, who would love to have me as part of their family. So, this is me hoping.
In the mean time I will stay busy and focus on work. It helps to pass the time and keep my mind busy.
I am good with:
dogs, children, domestics
