Very Many Vet Visits
Well we’ve been keeping our vets super busy this past month but isn’t it always like that. Everything comes at once.
With the cold weather a lot of our older babies have had arthritic flare ups and their joints are struggling. Bobby boy, Stallone and Samba Sam heading over to Dr Garry so he could check their medications and adjust and along with their new meds, nice warm blankies and jackets, they seem to be coping a bit better. But getting a bit older myself, sore joints are not fun, so I understand how they feel. Dr Garry even discovered our young boy Picasso has an old injury which looks like he had been hit by a car and young Picasso now also has arthritis at the area of the break that had been left and healed itself
We discovered our beautiful boy Sammy has cancer on the tongue and although the meds and supplements specialist vet Dr Garry has put him on, are making him feel so much better. Our boy was already suffering with arthritis from an old injury and the 2 meds cant be combined, so although our boy is feeling better and eating like a champ again. He’s starting to feel sore from no longer getting the arthritis meds. It’s going to be a fine balancing act with Sammy to make sure we keep him comfortable, pain free and his quality life not compromised. These are the guys that make our hearts so sore. Jersey and Kaydens skin have been giving problems to, so we also had follow ups on their skin conditions. Our boy Chipz sure has had a hard time, apart from his immune system breakdown we took him off to the eye hospital and discovered he has glaucoma now to boot so he really is building up frequent visitor miles with the vets at the moment.
Then in true Tracy style during the first month in a very long time where our adoptions were going to be higher than our intakes. I find a mamma dog with 10 puppies. But their cuteness is winning everyone over and the panic of how on earth are we going to care for these babies has changed to oohs and aahs all round. Ive been left alone with the panic of the ever increasing vet bills. Then the cherry on the top is out little Lawrence who came to us in a box he spent most of the week at the vet as they were concerned he had ICH but the vet was so happy with his progress he got to come home with me this weekend where he’s getting stronger every day. We’re just back from our check up and the vet is very happy with how our little boy is doing. I like to think the special Dogtown TLC played a big part in his big turn around.
As you can see its been a month full of worries but its been lovely to see our babies feeling better, warm and safe and we can only do this because of each and everyone of you.
