Help a furkid in need

Screen Shot 2016-05-03 at 9.30.17 AMHiya peeps my name is Hump-phrey.   Nooo don’t even think of going there and no further discussion on how I came by this name will be entertained !

I’m nearly five years old and I’m a ….well…. tell you what, let’s have a little competition. Anyone who can guess what blend I am gets a free day at Dogtown and a chance to have a little one-on-one fun time with yours truly.

I’m a relative new comer to the Dogtown Clan having arrived in January after been found aimlessly wandering the dusty sand roads of Hartbeespoort, very close to what I believe is soon to be Dogtown’s very own forever home. Exactly how I landed in this predicament is pretty vague to me and to be perfectly honest with you, I‘m quite happy to keep it that way.

As you can imagine, on my arrival here at “Hotel Zanado”- that’s what I call this amazing place – I was somewhat apprehensive and unsure of what to expect. In addition to this massive change taking place in my life I was also suffering from a severe skin infection which was causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. This understandably often made me really grumpy and my caregivers often had to take the brunt of my bad moods and indiscretions.

Well in true Dogtown style they took it all in their stride and set about resolving my misunderstood behaviours and medical condition. Firstly I was given my very own Wendy house to chill in. Next came a diet that dogs with my background can only dream of.  Then it was off to the doggy doctor who gave me lots of pills and potions to sort out my skin condition.

All this amazing good care and wonderful attention from my caregivers has rapidly got me on the mend and I’m feeling so much better and far more relaxed than I ever have. Everyone here now goes out of their way to come and talk to me. I’ve actually heard them comparing me to that well known old Hollywood movie actor Charles Bronson – I guess it must be my rugged, handsome cowboy look and I must admit I do shoot from the hip occasionally 🙂

At the rate I’m progressing with my rehabilitation, it won’t be long before I shoot (couldn’t resist that pun) to the top of the “ready for adoption” list. So for all you peeps out there looking for a really handsome furkid, then just as they say … watch this space ! ! 🙂

Oh, for all you guys and gals that haven’t yet entered my little competition, here is a clue.

Take a well-known South African breed and a well-known Chinese breed, mix them together and you will get a ?????? blend called Hump-phrey.
