Help a furkid in need

Welcome to Dogtown, Zoey

dsc_4585Hello everybody! My name is Zoey. I’m a newbie here at Dogtown, and boy am I glad this is where I ended up. I had quite a tough time before I came here. My family booked me in for a lovely visit to the Best Friend Lodge together with my two friends, but then they never came back to take us home. My friends, Kaizer and Branca, started picking on me which gave my self-esteem a real knock as anyone who has been bullied before would know. Nobody likes being the victim. Luckily the folks at Dogtown stepped in and gave me a garden of my own! I’ll give you a grand tour.

dsc_4556It is truly a beautiful place to live. On top of a mountain with a really picturesque view. Fresh farm air with a breeze in your hair. I’ve got my own little wendy house to sleep in. It is just big enough so I can sleep like a starfish if I feel the need, which I often do. I have a hound-sleeper to laze about in the sun while chewing on a bone in the afternoon. They gave me loads of chew toys including a kong they stuff with peanut butter that keeps me licking at it for half the day (although I do prefer carrying some rocks around and renovating the mountainside a bit). I have a little splash pool to cool off in as I absolutely love water. I play with it just as it comes out the hose.

I am on a proper diet now and putting on some much needed weight. My body is getting its curves back and there is a little bit more of me to love. Best of all is the people around here who takes me for walks and gives me some love and attention. Nothing beats a good old belly rub session! I know I already have them wrapped around my little claw.

Although Dogtown is a great place, it is not a forever home. I would just love to have a family to call my own again. If you think you can share your couch with me, please contact adopt@dogtownsa.org / 076 044 1979
