Finding the right home means finding a place where you can feel safe, settled and loved for who you are.
Nunu’s story began in Gauteng, where she lived with her beloved human mom. When her mom passed away, her daughter took Nunu in and gave her a home. But adjusting to her new circumstances proved difficult. While Nunu gets along well with cats and male dogs, she isn’t comfortable around female dogs, making it challenging for her to settle into a household that wasn’t quite the right fit. The situation was stressful for Nunu, and it became clear that she needed a different environment to truly thrive.
Wanting what was best for her, her family made the difficult decision to help Nunu find a home better suited to her needs.
Then came a message from Durban.
A family had fallen head over heels for Nunu, including her unique little overbite, and they were ready to welcome her into their lives. We managed to secure an affordable transport rate, and soon Nunu was on her way from Gauteng to a fresh start in a new city.
Today, Nunu is the only pet in her household, and her new mom absolutely worships her. No more navigating a living situation that doesn't suit her. Just a home where she can feel safe, loved and completely at ease.
Nunu's story is a lovely reminder of why reaching further matters. When an animal's story reaches a wider audience, it creates more opportunities to connect with people who might be the right match. The ideal home may be in another province, hundreds of kilometres away, but distance doesn't have to stand in the way.
For Nunu, the right connection was waiting in Durban.
The perfect match isn't always just around the corner. That's why we look further ❤️
