Founded on a deep belief that every dog deserves dignity, The Dogs Trust is a registered animal welfare NPO serving amid Gauteng's most underserved communities. Every day, our team cares for vulnerable dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or left behind. Some arrive frightened, some arrive injured, and many arrive emotionally exhausted from years of hardship. At the heart of The Dogs Trust is a simple mission: to protect vulnerable animals, restore dignity through compassionate care, and create lasting change in how communities understand and treat dogs. Beyond its digital reach, The Dogs Trust maintains an active on-the-ground presence across underserved Gauteng communities and selected outlying outreach areas. Through feeding, scouting, welfare checks, rescue support, veterinary intervention, sterilisation support, and owner education, the organisation delivers practical animal welfare support where the need is greatest. This outreach footprint demonstrates that The Dogs Trust is not only visible online but consistently present in the communities it serves — building trust, identifying animals in distress, supporting responsible ownership, and creating a stronger foundation for long-term welfare impact. Outreach isn’t limited to dogs only – cats, goats, bunnies & chickens are regularly assisted as well.
